The PSP is expanding its Mentorship Project to the King William’s Town District in the Eastern Cape. The PSP will implement and monitor a two – year programme consisting of training and termly support for subject advisors and SMTs from a selection of schools in King William’s Town.
The purpose of this project is the successful implementation of induction and mentorship programmes for newly appointed teachers by District officials and schools management. This project is in response to the call from the national Department of Basic Education for more urgent support for newly appointed teachers.
The success of young teachers can be ensured by providing them with a comprehensive, coherent professional induction and development programme.
