PSP Case Studies of Teachers: Evidence of PSP's Impact (2011)

Back to Monitoring & evaluation

The PSP has developed a booklet of case studies of teachers that gives a personal insight into primary school teaching in South Africa and shows great evidence of how the PSP inspires and stimulates teachers’ work.

The short case studies showcase the stories of exemplary teachers from their very own points of view. Each of the teachers interviewed came to teaching Natural Sciences via different routes and with different educational and cultural backgrounds. Yet all attest to the fact that their involvement with the PSP enhanced their confidence, knowledge and skills whilst also stimulating their professional curiosity.

The PSP is very grateful to the teachers featured in this booklet for their stories as well as to volunteer students Krista Osmundson and Zach Rose from the University of Kentucky in the United States who lent us their services and enthusiasm and helped research the case studies.

Special thanks also go to Angela Schaffer, the Independent Education Consultant who wrote the foreword for the booklet.

The Case Studies Booklet is available at the PSP office or for download here!

"It was an eye-opener, very motivating experience. I enjoyed every bit of the two lessons. It was my first time to make play dough! Thank you."
