A Great Success: Natural Sciences Workshop for First Time Teachers

Back to Latest news

On the 24 and 25 January 2012, we hosted our first Natural Sciences Innovation Workshop for First Time Teachers at the PSP offices, on the theme “Energy and Change”, presented by Rose and Novosti. The attendance was beyond astounding - 24 educators had been booked for, but 36 turned up for the workshop.

The workshop evaluations by the educators reflected that the workshop was a complete success. One of the educators stated “Very interesting. Things that I as an educator did not know, now I do” continued “Enjoyed the hands-on activities. This is a good method to keep learners more interested in science.”

Pre-tests had a 50% average mark and post-tests pitched at 75%, indicating an average of 25 % knowledge enhancement.

PSP would like to appeal with schools to book for their educators on time in advance, as this would facilitate precise setting up of the venues and also ease on situations such as congestion.
