Ruth Versfeld is a teacher, writer and curriculum developer. Her passion is for the Social Sciences – Geography and History. She is also involved in the teaching and learning of English as an Additional Language and sees the development of Language (including the mother-tongue) as central to learning.

Ruth has taught in a range of South African schools, worked as an education advisor for OXFAM in England and as Director for the Teaching and Learning Resources Centre at the University of Cape Town.

She has written many school text books and teaching manuals and has recently been involved in the writing of the CAPS (Curriculum and Policy Statement) for Intermediate and Senior Phase Social Sciences.

Ruth has been running courses for teachers at PSP for over twelve years.
