Rose Thomas teaches, writes materials and is involved in curriculum development for the Primary Science Programme. She holds a BSc Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Teaching Diploma from the University of London, and a Masters Degree in Teaching from UCT.
Rose worked at Wits in the Genetics Department for two years and then moved to London where she made high performance kites for a while. She then worked as a clinical chemist and bacteriologist in hospital laboratories when she finally decided there was more to life than looking at bacteria on an agar plate, so she retrained as a teacher.
On returning to South Africa, Rose taught at Westerford High School and at Rondebosch Boys High. She joined the PSP after starting a family and has been part of the PSP since 1988 – seeing it grow from strength to strength.
