Mascha Ainslie hails from the Free State, where she obtained a BA Degree at the University of the Free State. She studied for her Secondary Teachers’ Diploma at UCT and later moved to Cape Town with her husband, Don. She taught languages in Bloemfontein and the Cape.
Later Mascha started working with the Urban Foundation as an assistant to Anne Griffiths, the founder of the Primary Science Programme (PSP). After Anne retired Mascha eventually took over the Directorship of the PSP.
In the 25 years that she has been involved with the PSP, Mascha has seen and experienced the many developments in South African education and the impact on teachers. She has enjoyed the privilege of working with many inspired educationalists in a dynamic and cutting edge teacher development organisation.
She retires as Manager of the PSP as from January 2012 but continues in a part-time capacity as Consultant & Materials Development Coordinator.
