Maths & Science Facilitator

Novosti obtained his Honours degree in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Fort Hare in 2009, completed Quality Control and Assurance courses at CPUT in 2011.

He first became a Teacher in 2010 when he worked as a Teach South Africa Ambassador at Bulumko Secondary in Khayelitsha, where he taught Physical Sciences and Maths for two years during which he was afforded the opportunity to attend several Teaching as Leadership and Classroom management courses. He rekindled and was actively involved in various projects such as Olympiads and Expos in a quest to expose learners to the wider scientific arena.

Mascha Ainslie
Consultant & Materials Development Coordinator

Mascha Ainslie hails from the Free State, where she obtained a BA Degree at the University of the Free State. She studied for her Secondary Teachers’ Diploma at UCT and later moved to Cape Town with her husband, Don. She taught languages in Bloemfontein and the Cape.

Rose Thomas
Senior Science Consultant

Rose Thomas teaches, writes materials and is involved in curriculum development for the Primary Science Programme. She holds a BSc Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Teaching Diploma from the University of London, and a Masters Degree in Teaching from UCT.

Sandra Rossouw
Rural Coordinator and Maths, Science & Language Facilitator

Sandra Rossouw grew up in Somerset West and matriculated in 1981 at Hottentots Holland High School. She studied education at Wellington Teachers’ College (now CAPUT) in Wellington and obtained her Higher Diploma in Education in 1985.

Nocawe Malatse
Language & Maths Facilitator

Nocawe Malatse grew up in one of the Cape Town locations called Guguletu, meaning “Our Pride”. She completed her Diploma in Education in 1996 at Hewatt College of Education. Nocawe has taught at Luzuko Primary School in Guguletu and that is where she did her primary years as well. She was also once teaching at Impendulo Primary School in Khayelitsha.

Nadiema Gamieldien has a strong teaching background. She spent many years teaching in the Intermediate Phase at Imperial Primary in Mitchell’s Plain, honing her skills before joining SAILI, a Mathematics, Natural Science and Language NGO.

Viv Kenyon
Language Coordinator

Viv Kenyon trained as an Early Years teacher in London and taught for a number of years in Foundation Phase classrooms in London. She has also taught at South African teacher education colleges and developed distance education materials for the University of Fort Hare Distance Education Project.
