Mthunzi Nxawe is an Academic Publisher: Mathematical Sciences, Economics and Engineering at Juta & Company. His interest is in curriculum and professional development of in-service educators.

Mthunzi has taught both primary and secondary mathematics teachers at UCT (MEP), CPUT (then Cape Town College of Education) and Rhodes University. As a Deputy Director at the University of Fort Hare’s Distance Education Project (UFHDEP), he also co-authored a number of primary school modules for their B Prim Ed course.

Mthunzi was the mathematics curriculum coordinator for the Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA) for online learning and teaching material. He is currently a registered M Ed in Information Communications Technology Education student at UCT.
